Overview
After a WWII bombing reduces their home to ash, Seita and his four-year-old sister are left alone to fend for themselves in rural Japan. More devastating than the enemy attacks is the cold-heartedness of their fellow citizens. As starvation and sorrow consume them, the siblings cling to each other in a heartbreaking fight for survival.
